willaby partners with a family of Amish makers near owner/designer Kim Woods's Ohio hometown to make upcycled rugs. Scraps from our cutting table, leftover bolts, and fresh bolts of our current fabrics are woven into these beauties on a home loom. The rugs use every scrap we can possibly incorporate. No fabric is wasted in the process of using fresh bolts, because we cut fabric strips from the entire width of the bolt. In the name of zero waste, we do not trim the selvedge edge from the fabric, and therefore in some rugs you will see pops of contrasting color from the selvedge edge. The ends of the rugs are sewn with treadle sewing machines, and if weaving takes place after dark, it happens under oil lamp light. This means that from start to finish, absolutely no electricity is used in the construction of this product.

Available in 4 sizes. Because every rug is handmade, each will have a unique appearance and may slightly vary in size.

    **Mini heirlooms remaining

    Hand-dyed mini: WAS $70   NOW $59
    Ivory/undyed lace mini: WAS $60   NOW $51

    - On sale for 15% off in order to clear out the hand-dyed version of this product

Our lace heirloom blanket is made from eight layers of unbleached organic cotton gauze with unbelievable loft and softness. It's an object to be snuggled, loved, and treasured; an exquisite gift for babies and children. The generous size of this blanket makes it suitable from newborn to toddler and beyond.

The pink, yellow, and gray lace options for this blanket are hand dyed with natural dyes by willaby designer/owner Kim Woods, in a dye pot. The blue fabric is dyed by Kim in an organic indigo vat. No two hand-dyed laces are alike, each having variations in tone and surface appearance. We consider this a desirable result of the natural hand-dye process.

Mini size 22" x 22" - See last photo for mini size.

*The mini is 1/4 the size of the standard heirloom blanket. It functions well as a lovie, but is not large enough to be a covering beyond the newborn stage.

+ 100% GOTS certified organic cotton
+ Unbleached organic cotton gauze, fair-trade woven in an eco-friendly, sustainable mill
+ Machine wash cold, delicate cycle. Tumble dry low.
+ Designed in Georgia. Sewn in Kim's home state of Ohio, in quilters' home studios.

***The puckered state of gauze is achieved with washing and drying. Launder your gauze item in a cold, delicate cycle and tumble dry low. Voilà, you have puckered gauze! The weave of the fabric will appear flat prior to washing, will pucker up with laundering, and may continue to pucker up more with the next wash and dry--achieving the appearance you see in our product photos. (We include this information on an insert with each product.)

This item is available as cloth only, with no teething ring attached. Use the "cloth only" option as a napkin, handkerchief, or tiny lovie. Or tie it on to your own favorite teething ring.

Choose between the colors light blush and deep blush in the drop-down menu. See photos for light and dark examples.

Our beloved teether blankie combines both sensory qualities of hard and soft. Young graspers enjoy holding the wooden ring and smooshing the blankie in their hands. When baby begins teething, the wooden ring provides a soothing, hard-but-not-too-hard, natural surface for biting. As your child grows, the small square unties from the wooden ring to become a favorite little lovie.

A buttery soft, organic cotton gauze square is tied to a maple wooden ring specifically designed for teething. Our teething ring is made in the U.S. from maple wood grown and milled in the U.S. We rub it with a mixture of 100% organic jojoba oil and 100% organic beeswax harvested from bees raised in the U.S. Simply untie the blankie from wooden ring for washing. The organic cotton gauze becomes softer as it's repeatedly loved and washed.

The organic cotton square has been hand dyed with natural dyes by willaby designer/owner Kim Woods, in a dye pot. No two pieces are alike, each having variations in tone and surface appearance. We consider this a desirable result of the natural dye process.

    Measures 13.5" x 13.5"

+ 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton gauze, with maple wooden ring
+ Untie gauze square from maple ring and machine wash fabric on cold, delicate cycle. Tumble dry low. Wipe wooden ring with damp cloth.
+ Designed and sewn locally in Georgia

(Do not leave baby unattended with a teether or blanket. Do not place teething ring in the dishwasher.)
