For this project, willaby owner + designer Kim Woods partners with a family of Amish makers near her Ohio hometown. They cut bolts of fabric left over from willaby's previous children's clothing collections into thin strips and hand weave them on a home loom. They sew up the ends of the rugs with treadle sewing machines. Absolutely no electricity is used in production, and every fabric is one that was in our storage room. Some of the fabrics are from past season clothing, and others were purchased but never used in production.
We love these rugs for their texture and minimalism, high-quality fiber content, and machine washability.*
