Discontinued rug colorways on sale for 50% off
willaby partners with a family of Amish makers near owner/designer Kim Woods's Ohio hometown to make upcycled rugs. Scraps from our cutting table, leftover bolts, and fresh bolts of our current fabrics are woven into these beauties on a home loom. The rugs use every scrap we can possibly incorporate. No fabric is wasted in the process of using fresh bolts, because we cut fabric strips from the entire width of the bolt. In the name of zero waste, we do not trim the selvedge edge from the fabric, and therefore in some rugs you will see pops of contrasting color from the selvedge edge. The ends of the rugs are sewn with treadle sewing machines, and if weaving takes place after dark, it happens under oil lamp light. This means that from start to finish, absolutely no electricity is used in the construction of this product.
Because every rug is handmade, each will have a unique appearance and may slightly vary in size.
